PROJECT OVERVIEW

IPSA successfully delivered the following scope of works:

The scope of works of this project involves the resurfacing of the carpark at rear of the Officer’s Mess and drainage remediation works at various locations on RAAF Base Darwin.

Project Outcomes

  • To remediate the existing officer mess carpark, removal all traces of asbestos, improve facilities for all users.
  • To carry out drain remediation and officers mess car park works within the agreed timing and within the budgetary constraints.
  • To achieve a ‘zero harm’ outcome through comprehensive and uncompromising management of risk; particularly those risks relating to Work Health and Safety.
  • To ensure no environmental incidence or impacts to the RAAF Darwin facilities.
  • Delivery of the contractual scope of works in a manner to have zero impact on the RAAF Darwin base operations.

Value Added

  • The IPSA team remediated existing drain beyond the scope as a value add to the Department of Defence improving the water drainage system at no cost to Defence.
  • IPSA managed the asbestos removal in an extremely cost-effective manner by stripping predetermined layers until no asbestos was present, this greatly reduced disposal quantities and over project costs. The effectiveness of the removal was proven by the zero level airborne level result monitored during the removal process ensuring zero harm to Defence personnel.
