RAAF Darwin Building Works Project 1

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project consists of the electronic and physical security upgrade works as shown on drawings and as specified but not limited to the following:

  • Replacement of the existing Type 1 security alarm system with a new Type 1A
  • Provision of a new card access control system for the main entry door
  • Provision of new detectors and replacement of existing detectors
  • Conversion of the secondary door into a half-height wall and a roller shutter door to comply with Security Zone 2
  • Demolition of existing metal clad office and the design and construct of a new office
  • Demountable
  • Design, document, construct, delivery and commissioning of a new demountable office including all internal building services
  • New demountable office building must meet Zone 2 specifications
  • Provision of internal building services including electrical, fire detection, alarm system, fire protection, ICT, air conditioning and hydraulic
  • Provision of external telecommunications services
  • Provision of new external electrical services and hydraulic services station located near ablution demountable.
  • Design and modify the existing access balcony leading to the disabled accessible toilet from 1000mm width to 1240mm minimum width to facilitate wheelchair circulation from the balcony into the toilet in accordance with the requirements of BCA and Australian Standards.

Project Outcomes

  • Installation within the agreed timing and within the budgetary constraints.
  • To achieve a ‘zero harm’ outcome through comprehensive and uncompromising management of risk; particularly those risks relating to Work Health and Safety.
  • To ensure no environmental incidence or impacts to the RAAF Darwin facilities.
  • Delivery of the contractual scope of works in a manner to have zero impact on the RAAF Darwin base operations.
